Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum - 5th Most Richest

When the Forbes had announced the richest man in the world, the first person that crossed my mind is what place will be Sheik Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, will be. I can’t imagine how much worth his asset because he owns almost all of Dubai. From leading airline to leading hotels up to the biggest island and tallest building in the world, he is the man behind. As I looked over on the list, I was shocked that he was not on the list and was satisfied thinking that he did not declared his asset for security reasons.

Forbes declared Warren Buffett of USA was the richest man in the world with the net worth of $62 billion followed by Carlos Slim Helu & Family of Mexico and third was, William Gates III of USA.

But 3 days ago, my doubt on the richest man was answered by yahoo search engine. Almost every hour they posted a very interesting story that will catch your attention every time you will open their site. Sheik Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai was not on the list of the richest man in the world because he is a member of the royal family. I was amazed to find out that the richest man in the world (ordinary or member of the royal blood) is not from oil producing or super power country, he is from Thailand. Yes! From my neighbour country, Thailand. The following are the richest among the royal blood.

And the Winner is...

7:10am of August 16, 2008 at Staff Cafeteria while eating my breakfast. I was into tears watching the Beijing Olympic Games when Brazilian swimmer Cesar Cielo Filho won the Men's 50m Freestyle final finishing in an Olympic record time of 21.30. He bursted into tears like a candidate winning a crown of Miss Universe Pageant, hehehe… I cannot help to ask myself if he is a gay (I hope, he is).

World's Greatest

Beijing Olympic Games 2008, this might be the biggest and the mightiest Olympic Games that this world could offer to the universe. Records broke that were set when I was not born yet... who will do the next? Only time can tell. Maybe, this will happen again on 080808 (August 8, 2108) or on the next 100 years. I am so happy that this game happens when I am 28 when everything is very clear to my mind, as I monitored closely the Olympic even I am here in Dubai. The following are just 2 of my superheroes.

Michael Phelps of USA, the greatest Olympian of all time. Winning 8 gold medal in one Olympic Games.

Usain Bolt of Jamaica, the fastest man on earth. He won the 100m gold medal in Beijing Olympic Games in a world record time of 9.69 seconds.

The next Olympic games will be in London in 2012. Can the British stage the game as great as the Chinese did? Abangan ang Susunod na Kabanata...

New Uniform

Excited of the new uniform, I decided to bring my camera to have some snap shots on our first day. When I came to the hotel I found out that I am not only one who brought camera but three of my colleagues as well, hehehehe!. Our first uniform was beige polo shirt and brown pants with gold and blue accent (Arabian theme) at the center of the shirt. The second one was all black with gold accent on the center (vertical) of the shirt.

Me, Jonathan, Bobby, Bregis and Arthur

Though I like the first uniform, the new one gave me a refreshing feeling after working on this hotel for almost 4 years now (Ready to work like a beginner). It gives me a sense of fulfilment and responsibilities to show more of my capabilities not only for our guests but to my colleagues as well. This is also the time to assess myself on what I did to the company and what does the company did for me over the years.

This picture was taken 6 months ago and we are wearing our old uniform. Geoffrey our Supervisor who is Kenya, Me, Mustafa - Egyptian and Arthur from Pampanga, Philippines.

inuman session 1

inuman ang isa sa mga libangan ng mga pilipino dito sa dubai. kahit night shift, nakukuha pa rin naming uminom right after our duty kahit mataas ang araw. Though hindi naman araw-araw, but it is (at least) once a week.

i am not a drinker although i did, occasionally. At first di ko sila matanggihan but lately, di na nila ako mapilit especially nung nagka-internet ako. i prefer to be alone most of the time with my computer than hanging around with colleagues and friends sa inuman session. Masakit kasi sa ulo at sa bulsa. At hindi lang yan, I observed na nagiging dual yung personality ko kapag nalalasing, hehehehe..

But in contrary, masaya din ang inuman session. Mapapatawa ka at lumalakas ang pakikisama mo sa iba. It can boost your self-esteem as well. You can also learn things na sa tagayan mo lang nalalaman.

But always remember to drink moderately. Lahat ng sobra ay masama.
