Pido Dida!

Have you ever seen the Filipino film, Pido Dida? A Comedy film starred by late Rene Requistas and Kris Aquino that talk about love and friendship that was a hit on 1990.

If I am Pido in real life my Dida is Maria Fe B. Superar, my childhood friend who is in Korea for work. She is a friend closest to my heart next to my immediate family. We’ve known each other for more than 2 decades and shared moments that can be remembered for a lifetime, both happy and sad. Here are few of thousands crazy moments we had together.

o Bahay Bahayan, Lutu Lutuan. Our most favorite play time activity during childhood years. We were confused who will act as a husband and wife because I always prepare the food while she is always out from our small house to provide our needs.

o Mini Concerts. We always sing songs on a jam packed coliseum with more than 10,000 viewers. When we opened our eyes we found ourselves in the middle of the abandoned house, on the top of the tree or sometimes in the middle of the street during late hours. Imagination really brings you to everywhere you like.

o Instant Sales Agents. One day, we were asked by her Mom to man her ukay-ukay business along NCCC Department Store. We spend our income on buying spaghetti and hamburger and we went to a theme park after. Her Mom did not ask to do the same thing again.

o Exhibitionists. We did orgies trice. We had sex with a man, a lady, a gay together. We were straight acting but purely homosexuals. We go out together like boyfriend/girlfriend but were hoping for a hook up on our kind.

o Fake Superheroes. We organized a party for our close friend Jen on a nearby house together with few other friends. It ended up with a huge trouble. Jen’s brother went on that house and confronts us differently. We try to save our asses but big commotion took place, “rambol, nagtago kami!.” The following night, one of the relatives of ate Jen killed our friend.

A whole book with 13 chapters and 600 pages will not be enough if we will tell our experiences we had together. I can say that most of those were unusual as we are different from the majority. But these differences had brought us from where we are right now.

We might end not to be together but those experiences will keep our friendship forever. We might have our own priorities but knowing each other for long time is priceless. Only time can tell and only future can predicts what awaits us.

To my special abs, may the best man/woman win! Sounds challenging but we are not competing each other. We are just helping each one of us to do more. Chow!
